Frederick Chingwaba

Frederick Chingwaba, Advisor

Frederick Stephen Chingwaba is an Anglican Priest from the Diocese of Morogoro, Tanzania. He is the General Secretary of the Anglican Diocese of Morogoro and has been a friend and advisor to UNITE since June 2008. Together, we are working on behalf of the Diocese to find a sister parish here in the United States who can help provide ongoing support for the church’s many critical programs including the Mother’s Union, Student Scholarships & Education, Outreach Programs for those in greatest need, a Tractor business, and much more.

Frederick studied in Tanzania through secondary school and traveled to the UK to receive his Bachelors of Arts in Theology from the University of Gloucestershire. For many years he worked as the principal of the Morogoro Bible College in tandem with his priestly duties with the Diocese. Today, Frederick is in America studying at Eden Seminary in St. Louis to receive his Master of Theological Studies.

Frederick grew up in the village of Njungwa, Morogoro, with his parents, both subsistence farmers working with hand hoe only, and nine brothers and sisters. Life was extremely challenging and even adequate food and basic medicines were often out of reach. In 1996, Frederick married his wife Alice and together they have three children: Emmanuel, 15, Anna 12, and Sarah 8. Alice and the children are home in Morogoro while Frederick studies in the United States. Alice has since started a small chicken/egg and grain bank business with the support of UNITE.

Acts: 4:32 “Now the whole group of those who believed were of one heart and soul, and no one claimed private of ownership of any possessions, but everything they owned was held in common.”
