“Our family spent three weeks in Tanzania with UNITE, and I can honestly say it was a life changing experience, not only for the adults but especially for the children. In a world dominated by electronics, materialism and pop culture, it was so inspiring to hear my teenage daughter say ,“Though they live on so little, they are so happy! I am never going to forget this.”
It was a life changing experience, for the adults and especially for the children.Anne Wells took us to places that none of us knew existed. Helping people in dire need through physical service projects was great, but the really incredible part of the journey was the emotional and spiritual connection we made with the amazing people of Africa and the lifelong attachment to Africa that we will always have. I cannot even imagine how much work was done behind the scenes by UNITE because everything went like clockwork in a country where one would not expect that to happen. There are very few people in the world who really change your life, but Anne Wells and UNITE did that for me and my family, and for that, we will be forever grateful.”

My trip to Tanzania with UNITE, was, in a word, outstanding! The travel, and what we were able to do and see, completely surpassed my expectations. Traveling with Anne and Kim, and the rest of the Unite team, was like having our own personal passport to a country filled with wonderful people and sights. I left there feeling as if I had been let in on a wonderful secret. We had a ball! You cannot exaggerate what a wonderful experience it is.

I went to Tanzania on a UNITE mission in 2010 and had the unique opportunity to see a a breathtaking country through the lens of a humanitarian purpose. UNITE exposed me to the rugged nature of Tanzania’s most severe needs while offering us all the chance to connect with the locals who surpassed their circumstances with profound kindness. UNITE has doggedly worked to help the Tanzanian people, and it was a wonderful experience to be part of that mission.

We had the most incredible trip to Tanzania. It was made all the more meaningful by connecting with UNITE partners/leaders in the country who gave us firsthand experience with two groups who we will now continue to work with.
Working with UNITE was the most gratifying experience. Everyone should be so fortunate!UNITE staff in Tanzania are not only delightful to work with, but they are wonderful ambassadors for the country. They educated us every step of the way. All in all, working with UNITE was the most gratifying experience. Everyone should be so fortunate!

Our trip to Tanzania was a life changing experience. Seeing what Mama is doing at WEECE not only for the girls but for the women of Tanzania was so empowering. We loved our day at Orkeeswa. The students are bright and engaged and so grateful to be there. Our trip to Tanzania was a life changing experience. We are excited for the future that UNITE’s partners are affording the Tanzanians.

Being part of UNITE’s first service tour with my daughter and two nieces opened up our eyes to the most basic levels of need — food, health, clothing and education — and to a people that gave back of themselves wholeheartedly. Asking my girls one question — If you could give, support a group/cause, which one would you choose? – opened up a lifetime of discussion. UNITE gave us a unique experience, a priceless one with my girls.

In February 2012, my husband, Ralph, and I were privileged to visit three projects supported by UNITE. At The Rift Valley Children’s Village it’s hard to imagine the size of India Howell’s heart.
While safari was originally the focus of our trip, our time with UNITE’s partners was so enriching and led us to understand how we could be “part of it.” We are the ones who have benefited from being introduced to these marvelous organizations!Tumaini’s head of school Modest Bayo is possibly the most charismatic and passionate person either of us has recently met! At FAME, we were were so impressed with the level of professionalism of the doctors and their staff as well as state of the art equipment. It’s unbelievable to see the dedication and love in these people. I went to Tanzania with UNITE in 2009, and it was the best experience of my life. Everyone in the group was friendly, and I really enjoyed working with them. I was especially moved by Anne’s dedication and love for the country and its people, and when I was there, I understood why she had such dedication. The people that I met there were so welcoming and inspiring and as a result, I would love to be able to return or at least continue to help in the future. When I tell friends about my trip they are jealous of the safari we went on at the end, but I say that was my least favorite part and that the people were what made the trip one I will remember for the rest of my life. I am studying abroad in England for the semester and I have traveled all over Europe during my four months here, but I have yet to go on a trip or visit a place that even remotely compared to my trip with UNITE, and I don’t think anything will ever be as great.

My time in Tanzania with UNITE was one of the most, if not the most, revolutionary experience of my life.
My time in Tanzania with UNITE was one of the most, if not the most, revolutionary experience of my life.At age 16, I was granted the priceless opportunity to be treated like an adult and like a friend to people whom I had known for a few days at the most. Our team carried a mixture of professional expertise and impossible-to-quell optimism, and in response we were received always with open arms. This combination was a recipe for a life changing experience on all ends.

I’m offering my testimonial about my experience with UNITE in the form of this painting, which has been two years in the making. It depicts the Uluguru mountains that we saw in Morogoro during our summer service tour in 2009. I believe this painting expresses my heart connection to Tanzania.
